The objectives of this study aimed to investigate the health beliefs and Self-Care of hypertensioo Patients in Tumbol Puyud Amphoe Muang Changwat Pattani, during 4-31 January 2008, One hundred samples of patients who met Criteria conclusion were studied. The instrument used for data collecting was questionnaire composed of four parts: demographic data, health beliefs scales and self-care scales which developed by the researcher.Content validity was examined by specialist. Reliability of health beliefs scales was obtained by means of Test-retest and self-care was obtained by means of Kuder-Richarson 20. The reliability of health beliefs questionnaire, self-care questionnaire and total Reliability were 0.65, 0.65 and 0.97, consecutively.
Data was analyzed by packaged program using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearson?s product moment correlation coefficient.
The result of the study revealed that:
1.Overall health beliefs of hypertension Patients were correctly in moderate level.
2.Overall self-care of hypertension Patients were correctly in good level.
3. Overall health beliefs of hypertension Patients were correlated with self-care statistically a significant level of 0.01
The study revealed that hypertension Patients should be promoted with correct health beliefs and encouraged into their self-care.
